SIRIS – Swiss national registry for hip and knee replacement
This nationwide mandatory registry for hip and knee replacement in Switzerland began in September 2012. Mandated by the National Association for Quality Control in Hospitals and Clinics in Switzerland (ANQ), SIRIS was designed as an implant registry for arthroplasty surgery in Switzerland.
SIRIS Hip and Knee has the task of identifying poorly functioning implants or medical processes as an early warning system. In addition, it contributes to the quality of implant medicine as an instrument of continuous learning. The revision rate for primary hip and knee prostheses in the first 24 months after implantation is of particular importance for this.
