Swiss Heart Surgery Registry

The primary goals of the Heart Surgery Registry established by the Swiss Society for Cardiac and Thoracic Vascular Surgery (SGHC), are:

• to ensure the quality of cardiac surgery procedures in Switzerland,
• to collect data on the patient and his disease, the treating center, the treatment and on the outcome of the treatment,
• to generate statistical indicators on the quality of treatment at the centers and to compare them with the overall collective.

Surgeries with cardiopulmonary bypass pump (CPB) and also major cardiac surgeries, which are performed on the beating heart, are recorded.
